After many years of procrastinating, I finally got my CCW permit. A pretty painless process. Guns I'm looking to car are a .38 J frame on the ankle and a Kimber Pro Carry on the hip or small of my back.
Now I just need to convince NJ I need to carry it to work every day...yeah, I'm sure they'll get right on that.
Later,
Steve.

I sent mine in on feb 28th. how long did it take you to get it back from pa to sign
i have till the 2nd week in april to wait for my bday then i can apply. as for guns, i am fond of glocks, considering a 27 or 36 and instead of a jframe 38 i would love to get one of those kahr PM9's, just hear to much mixed results about that gun at the moment, so for pocket situations i may purchase a keltec p3at. congrats on your permit

I only waited about three weeks. The lady at the sheriff's office told me four - six weeks.
kt, I don't like the Glock's all that much. I think they're a great gun, but I don't like how they shoot. I really don't like how the little featherlight j-frame shoots either, but it's small and that's what I was looking for.

Got mine for x-mass, in and out 1/2 hour and 20 bucks, photo, no prints, no classes, got it in mail 11 days later. go figure! i guess they trust "old guys".

polo,
No, PA does not "trust old guys." This shall-issue state realizes that criminals CANNOT QUALIFY for a CCW, so those that apply and pass the background check gotta be OK. After all, all the bad guys are armed, so why not arm the good guys?
Adam
If everyone carried, would there be less crime or just more ER GSW trauma? I vote for less crime.
