That is the weirdest looking soy bean field I have ever seen. Around here, the soy bean fields look like a field of grass (i.e., no rows between them). I have also never seen a soy bean field get that tall, but that might be because every single plant has usually been snipped by a deer.

The plants in front of the deer looks like soy beans, but behind the deer looks like something else. The rows are too pronounced. Here you can't see the rows at all. Deer will graze 10 to 15 ft holes in the edges of the fields here.

The rows closest are the edge rows & where the doe is standing is a little water damaged, I don't remember what the exact date was when I took the pic but, around here they usually plant the beans in rows 15-30" apart or they drill them.

I'm thinking I took that pic fairly early from the looks of it.. once the beans reach maturity they are usually waist high & all you can see of the deer then is their neck & head & you can no longer see the rows. The deer will feed on beans from the time they pop-up till they start to dry, then, they feed on corn.

Most of the ditches & some or the fields have clover growing in them & the deer hit them from spring threw to late fall. I know several hunters that plant Imperial Whitetail Clover, 30-06, Alfa-Rack ect, there is one guy who leaves several rows of beans & corn stand just for the deer. We don't own any of the property we hunt so we can't grow anything to attract them but, were right between the guys that do & are growing all of the big bucks.;) lol It's just a matter of time!

Around here, farmers are lucky if the beans get to knee height. The deer are so bad that the beans really don't have a chance. Some farmers are happy if they get a bushel of corn per acre. The deer are incredible around here.

We don't own the land we hunt on either, but we plant clover and other food sources for the deer around the edges and some cuts through the woods. It's not much, but it helps.
