Rocky,
Are we still getting together at Little America? and do you know the Exit number of it? Been so long since I`ve bee by there.
I`ll probibly pick up my trailer today and will be able to pull out of here by Tue., and should be able to make it in 2 days. I`ve still got to get my hearing checked too, eather today or monday.

I'm going to make a scouting trip early next week. I'll report back then.

As it stands now, the hunt will be a week from today - January 7-8-9.

We'll be camping in Catfish's long-distance camper. The sites I plan to hunt are between exits 50 to about 80 along Interstate 80. The Little America complex (where we'll all tag up) is at Exit 69. Unless the snow is too deep, we'll camp about a mile east of there, next to a small butte.

Last time I looked, there are LOTS of rabbits and coyotes nearby.

I'll post a final tag-up notice after I make that scouting trip on Monday.

OK, here's the latest...

The weather looks like it will be acceptable. I'll drive over and scout the places tomorrow.

Catfish is bringing a camper for us all. But everyone should bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Catfish, will you have time to outfit it with plates, pans and stuff?

I'm bringing all the drinks (soda beer and whatever) plus lots of snack/lunch stuff. I'm also bringing a spare battery for the camper to run the heater.

We need someone to bring firewood for two nights.

If Roy and Evan can each buy stuff for one evening meal (or we can shop once we arrive) plus breakfasts, that should cover things.

Anyone else besides those four coming? Speak up NOW!

I`ll probibly just load some up and zero them and take what I get. I`ll update tonite. Who all is comming??????

Sorry to hear that Evan, but we`ll keep hopeing you`ll be able to make it. I`ve got the trailer in the drive now and got my hearing checked today, but everything else I tried to get done pretty much went down the tubes. I will get some ammo loaded tonite and hope the rain stops tommrow long enough to get my rifles zeroed. The trailer has been winterized and for 2 day I don`t want to undo it, so I`ll ask everyone to use the great out door rest room and bring a sleeping bag. The stove and frig. should be working so no problem there. I`ll have pans for cooking and we can eat on paper plates to save alittle work and hunting time. Still looking good for leaveing Wen. and see you all Fri.

Yup, sorry, Evan.

There's no cell reception where we'll be.

I went there today to do some scouting. The camp spot is bare and dry (so far) but big storms coming between now and then, so...who knows. I didn't manage to call in any yotes today, but I didn't get there until almost 10 am. I did see a few snow-white jackrabbits, and yote tracks.

I have two alternate camping spots, just in case. And I'll bring an outdoor poopy stool!

Roy, you still coming?

Roy, or anyone else that was going to come,
I just talked to Rocky on the phone and he said that the weather was goig to be real bad in Wy. this weekend and I`m running alittle behind on getting everything together, and we`re suposed to have freezeing rain here tonite and tommrow so we`re going to post pone the hunt untill Feb. or March. We`ll try to get another date set soon. Sure wish things would have worked out for this weekend, but guess I be trucking corn instead of hunting. :( :( :(

I'm with ya.

National weather services says this weekend's storm will be similar to the one in 1950.

Wasn't here in '50 but the snow in PA that year or was it '54, was to the eaves of a two story house. D9 cats from the strip mines were used to clear the roads.

See ya later.

Good thing we cancelled, guys. The weather was MISERABLE over the weekend - and still is.

All those storms rolling in from Kalifornia brought nothing but wind and rain/snow mix. No break in it since last Tuesday or so. And no break coming, either.

The 'yotes are certainly holed up along with everything they hunt, and the roads and such are a mess. I drove out to a fox-hunting spot nearby, and it was just cold mud everywhere. Yuck. I didn't even get out of the truck.

I`m here now. We had an ice storm here Wen. All kinds of power lines down and with the rain the rivers were all at or near flood stage. I spent 11 hrs. Thur. and 7 hrs. Fri. working communication at a Red Cross shelter and 6 hrs. Sat. working como. at the EOC office. Since the ice melted we`ve had more rain and the rivers are still a flood stage. I just got my phone back alittle bit ago, couldn`t get on the web, and come here to see if anyone has started planning for the next try. With the water we`ve got I won`t be able to run the hoe for a month or more.
I do have ammo loaded for my .204 and acouple of other guns, so I think I`m more prepaired to come out now. I`ll need 2 days for driveing time so when everyone can make it less do it !!!!!!!!!

Kirkned,
I`m up for about anything when it comes to hunting any more, I`m getting old and don`t have many year left so plan to make the most of what I`ve got. Just found out that I may have 50,000 bu. of corn to truck yet this month, will probibly find out for sure tommrow. That would save me dragging my trailer out, but that`s not a big deal eather. If you have a time that works well for you through it out and we`ll see how it works for everyone else.
I got busted by a coyote tonite. It was getting to close to dark when we set up and we were in to big a hurry, won`t do that again.
