Good stuff Cowboy--I too will be trying to take my first turkey with a bow this spring----how did the kill go down? I would like to know everything.

sorry Virginiashadow for the delayed responce. i dont get to the computer very often. so the story goes..............

I was actually out hunting deer (extra doe season here in oklahoma) with my trusty .223 and decided to take my bow along just in case a gobbler came in range. Sure enough they did (just as they had every day during the regular rifle season). I had placed my self behind a very large oak tree. It was EXTREMELY foggy that morning and decided not to chance the climb up the tree stand. As they quickly approached I simply drew (hidden by the large tree) and waited a brief moment for they first gobbler to come forth. There was approx. 65-80 birds in the group so luckely the third bird was male. It was a near perfect shot (if i must say so myself). no meat loss and more importantly, no fly off with my arrow!! am looking forward to spring for another try.

good day

Congrats!

What kind of broadhead did you use?

What was your set up?
