Hi
I have bought some boxes of PMC 170 gr FPcast lead and they clock around 1400 fps in my savage 24 and my son's 94 and about 1300 fps in my 340 with 2 inch shorter barrel. I wonder if these loads could be used for hunting and for which kind of game they could be used, pentration is very good as good as150 gr sp factory loads and it will mushroom a little bit too. if you you have used and have experince wiith it ,then please tell me about it.
regards
danny

Sorry for the late reply I figure some other sodbusters would jump in here on this one. What caliber are we talking about here danny?

PMC usually makes decent ammo IMHO.

Oh heck yeah 30-30 is probably the best caliber ever built for ALOT of game and brush hunting (Woo I can here the flamethrowers firin' up as I type this.)

You should be good to hunt just about anything you are comfortable with hitting in the kill zone at X distance with it. Although I would be wary of cape buffallo, grizzley, and moose over 1400 lbs. . . . :D
