Ive about convinced myself I need a war eagle 23 ft aluminum boat with a yamaha outboard. Its set up with a center console, gun box, duck blind, dog ladder, and a lot of other cool features, If anyone can give me any pros or cons on this boat before I throw down a deposit I would appreciate it.

Only two things that I'm in question about on a War Eagle. The 1/2 rolled rail I'm not sure as to the durability in hides at docks etc. I'd like to see one a couple years old to see if it takes the beating. The other is the camo paint/coating, I repaint my boat every other year, I can just see me tearing a big stripe down the side. That's it for me, I like their boats and I like the thickness of the alum. The ones I've seen seem to plane and ride nice and our local dealer sells a bunch. I suppose if I can't have a custom plate boat a War Eagle would get some serious thought.
Got one at our dealer with a 150hp Yamaha on it, I think I'm not gonna be the one to see how fast!!!!

The one I have been looking at has a 115 Yamaha which is really more than I think I need . Hadnt thought about the rails. Kinda pessamistic about the vinyl inside. Dealer has said he will warranty the paint (hasnt said how long) and motor has 5 yr warranty. Dealer also said he will send a truck to take boat to his shop and return for any warranty work for free. He is about 200 miles away. Probably going to take the plunge but you know they say the two best days are the day you buy a boat and later the day you sell it!

Yep, those are the two best days in any boat owner's life, but there are a bunch of good ones in between too. My dad and I have made some fond memories with the boat we have now. Of course, some of them have to do with breaking down and the boat is sitting in his driveway waiting for warmer weather for us to fix it.

Oh, tell me about it. My motor has blown 3 times, (bad oiler) once at 5AM in the middle of the Mississippi. This year the brain box went out, at the blind, 4 miles DOWN river. All three times it was within the first week of the season. Twice I paid, but the third time I had 2 tanks of gas from the repair. I got a loaner and Evinrude fixed the motor. They should have paid after the first one but I spent a year in the hospital between explosions.
There is absolutly nothing more despairing than being on the water in the dark with a bad motor. Fortunately us boaters all seem to have been there at one time or another and help was not too long in arriving.
Good luck on the new boat, I've heard a lot of good things about that Yamaha. I was going to get a new 60 this year but at 7 grand I decided to run the ole Evie as long as she'll run.

Welcome to the wonderful/terrible world of boat ownership.
Now you just have to change all the stuff on it that you "just don't like" add this and add that, fix this, adjust that, etc. etc.
I've had this particular one since "91" and I just bought some more gizmos at Cabelas last Wed.
Good luck, and wear your jacket when you hunt, it makes it easier to find the body.

Hopefully i wont need to do much remodeling. I really bit the bullet and got all the accessories I thought I might need? Swapped the 130 two cycle outboard for a 90 four cycle, tandom trailer, vhf radio, depth finder, dog step, old guy step, gun box, aereated live well, cargo holder for dekes, shell holders, rod holders, moved console to center, front spot light, trolling motor hookup, curteosy lights, four pedistal seats, an avery blind, and a whopper of a payment book.

Yeah, I was reading through all that and wondering how much this boat cost you. I was looking at a Grizzly Tracker 21' boat last year and that thing was going to cost me close to $10,000.

Hope I get an invite out on the boat next season. Likewise, I am going to have to take you guys (i.e., Rubicon, Skeet, DaMadman) resident goose hunting next season when I have some more time on my hands.

Brought her home Saturday. Only thing I can think of it doestn have is a bracket for running a crab line so I emailed war eagle and got email this evening asking for my phone # so president of company could call me. Actually I would rather go hunting at his place and fabricate my own bracket.

Nice, very, very nice. Now I'm jealous, of the boat, not the payment book.
