HERE IS THE MULEY BUCK I SHOT IN NEBRASKA BACK IN NOVEMBER. IT HAS 13 POINTS AND A 27'' SPREAD. IT WEIGHED ABOUT 225 LBS. I SHOT IT AT ABOUT 300 YARDS WITH THE TRUSTY OL' 7MM.

Nice buck Frank. Where did you take him? Over around Chadron or up in the Sand Hills? Congrats on your deer.

THANK YOU. I WAS BACK HOME IN BEAVER CITY WHILE ON LEAVE FROM THE AIR FORCE. THAT'S DOWN IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF NEBRASKA SOUTH OF LEXINGTON 50 MILES.

Waidmannsheil Frank, nice Muley. How far did it go after the shot, or drop on the spot. I know each animal is different in how they react and each shot is different, but generally, do you think Muley's are "tougher" than Whitetails or about the same, or Whitetails tougher? Just curious, I haven't had the pleasure of hunting Muley's yet, but hope to some day, Dom.

Frank, I know exactly where you're at. I was born in McCook, raised on a farm 34 miles north of there, and until two years ago, was coming back every year to hunt with my Dad, just north of Arapahoe. Do you still see a lot of whitetails aroung there?

Dom, there isn't probably ten cents of difference between these mule deer and their whitetail cousins, in fact, there are a lot of crosses in this particular area. I shot one about ten years ago that they tried to check in as a whitetail. It wasn't, I finally convinced them it was a mule deer. Whitetails are just more aggressive, so they do more of the breeding.

I WAS LUCKY, HE DIDN'T MOVE AN INCH. HE DROPPED RIGHT BY THE EAR OF CORN HE WAS EATING ON. I WAS USING 140GR BALLISTIC TIP BULLETS AND IT SURE KNOCKED HIM DEAD.
