from layaway, and i have to say i was quite pleased.
fired it at the range before i brought it home, 1 box of 50 .40 s&w, iron sights.

5 yards 3 mags (30 rounds) on a b-21x target. first two mags were trying to get the triangular sights to agree with where i wanted it to hit.

by the third mag, had 2 groups. 4 shot string holes touching, a little high in the 5x ring. second wa sa 6 shot string, vertical, all holes touching almost through center of 5x ring.

second target, range 25 yards, 20 rounds iron sights, b-21x target. 3 in 5x ring, 11 in k5/d2 ring, 5 in k4/d3 ring.

I don't think thats too shabby for a new out of the box, unfamilier pistol, and being loaded up on caffiene as well.

The triiger is nice and crisp, has a trigger safety, as well as a stage 2 safety, located above the trigger group, but released inside the top of the trigger. It's weird, and will take practice to get used to using that one. On the plus side, it's almost, but not quite impossible to release the stage 2 safety by accident or without knowing it.

It also has a key lock safety on the right side by the disassembly lever, not only locks the safety from firing, but while locked you cant disassemble it either.

The sights are different. triangular affair, nicely contrasted, but definitely different from anything else i've used. took some trial and error just to get them goign well, but after a couple of magazines they lined up nice and fast.
With more practice i expect that even rapid fire with them will be quite easy to lineup on a target.

recoil and flip are handled well. very little flip that i noticed, less then my Pt101. (didn't expect alot anyway, it isn't like the .40 really kicks)

Good ergonomics. nice weight, feels good.
People with larger than average hands or really long fingers might not care for it though.

Takedown, maintenance, and cleaning are simple and fast.
when i got home, stripping, cleaning, and reassembly took about 4 min. following the instructions, stripping it the first time, for normal maintenance took less than 1 min, roughly the same for reassembly.

all in all i'd say they did a dang good job with this little pistol.

I have the M9 Steyr and really like it. It shoots well, easy to find the target and ergonomically it's great.
