If someone hadn't been feeding that deer it probably wouldn't have gotten into this problem

Dern...that's also what happens when you take all the habitat..force deer to feed outta buckets and bins. And the tree-huggers call us cruel..all the while livin in some fancy subdivision that just mowed down 300 er so acres of prime deer grounds.
Aint it funny how it all just goes full circle?

Back home in the mountains there is a nearby state park with a lodge and cabins. there is also a large canyon where several black bear call home. We had tree hugger tourists staying in one of the cabins and they were trying to feed a bear hotdogs on a roasting stick. But they were also teasing the bearby pulling the stick back when he would try to get the hotdog. One of them did this once too often and the bear swatted at him and drew blood. then the guy raised so much H### my buddy the conservation officer got orders from his district commander to kill the bear. In the yard where this all happened there was a big sign DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE. What a waste.

I have seen many, many ducks and geese that had the old plastic six pack holders wrapped around their necks. I'm not sure how this happens but I don't believe that is was caused by people feeding them beer.:D

Your post makes me so mad! We had a similar incident here. Bear came to town, so many folks pestered it that it finally went up a tree. Conservation came and with aid from local law enforcement finally got the PEOPLE under control. The bear was scared down from the tree with some kind of firecracker round shot from what looked like an H&R single shot shotgun. Law enforcement "herded" the bear back to the woods and the bear, in this instance, was ok. But as so often is the case, people are usually the problem, not the wildlife. And as 'Lilred says, there's only so much dirt, the more we pave, the less left for critters.
