I put a team together and we pulled it off. I would have been tickled to place anywhere in the top three. Nice to see the guys smiling! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

At the DJV Kreismeisterschaft (Regional Competition) held 26 February 2005 at Schützenhaus 1490 in Heidelberg, the American RGC Team shot for the Gold, and took it home. For the past few months, team members have been diligently practicing on the ranges, and it paid off. Team Leader Dom Knoll scored very good on all the targets and placed second overall, additionally taking the Silver Medal home. Morgan and Ken had their share of problems on the 100 meter Uberlaufer while Bob had his trouble on the Kiphase. Ken shot well overall and posted a score that earned him the Club’s shooting pin in Bronze. In addition, two other Americans, Recardo Alexander and Mac Franklin, shot to hone their competition shooting skills.

There were a total of seven teams that shot, making up a total of 35 shooters participating. Both rifle and shotgun disciplines were shot, broken down as below:

Rifle: 100 meter
-- Rehbock (Deer), Standing Supported
-- Uberlaufer (Boar), Standing Freehand
Rifle: 50 meter
-- Running Boar, Low Gun, Standing Freehand
Shotgun: 35 Meter
-- 10 shots at Kiphase (Running Rabbit), Low Gun (every piece hit counts)

Waidmannsheil!
