We finally built a Skeet Course!

My local Sportsmans Assoc has finally opened up a Skeet course. I shot it for the first time in my life on Sunday. That's a HOOT! Much better conditioning for the type of hunting I do, I think I'll be spending some time here. I just ordered some new Skeet Chokes from Briley for the 20 and 12 gauge Citoris. Would also like to find some extended tubes for the Red Label 28ga. rather than the flush mounts.

Also, that station 8 really kicked my ass! :eek: :D

Sounds like you had a great time TreeDoc. It is addictive, sometimes my Wednesday shooting fix isn't enuf & I gotta go shoot a few rounds on Saturdays too!

Oh, and for a real axx kicking, you gotta shoot Station 8 from low gun. That will humble you and make you feel like a one legged man in an axx kicking contest!! Talk about having to have fast reflexes and purely instinctive shooting.

Also some good shooting fun is when we shoot the beer bird from the hip. Gotta find me a new sucker, oops, I mean shooter, who'll shoot me for a beer a bird too. All in good fun, I remember a few years ago my shootin' buddy beat me to one -- at the end of a couple rounds he owed him 23 beers!! Waidmannsheil, Dom.

I really like skeet shooting. I started out shooting trap, then started shooting skeet, then five stand, and now sporting clays. I find sporting clays to be the most fun of them all.

I'm looking to try my hand at sporting clays. I'm on another site and the guys on the California Forum will be getting together at the end of April for a BBQ, Raffle, and Clays shoot up in NorCal real close to where my Duck Club is. I'm hoping to get a chance at it before then but we have no place within 150 miles that has a set up.

That truly sucks TreeDoc. Within a 150 mile radius, there are probably 10 sporting clays courses around me. Of course, I usually frequent the one that is the closest (i.e., within a 30 minute drive). Once you shoot sporting clays, I am willing to bet that you will like it a lot better than skeet.

That sounds like fun...I was pretty bored in Alabama, so next to the pole barn I got on that riding lawn mower and cut out a huge semi circle....set up the clay thrower and man I was in business...what a blast.......
