They want us to pay $25 per vehicle or $5 a day just to go to the State's Park. That means any State Park in Ohio. They say the money would go right back to the State Park it came from. But we have so many small Park's that will not see any of this money. They are targeting Camper's, Hunter's, Fisherman & Naturelist's. The Small Parks will most likely to go to crap. The dont have enough ODNR personal to enforce this, It's going to be on the Honor System only. So I wonder just how many Little State Parks will be avoided & Go under all together?

I have been so upset about this since it was first Proposed, I have wrote Numerous letters to the State, Only getting we have to do what we have to do to keep the Parks Up & Safe for all. Thats total BS.

I pay for Fishing & Hunting Tags, fur tags, deer tags & all the equipment to go with it. Now I have to fork out another $25 just to go Fishing or Hunting or just for a friggen Picnic at the State park I live right beside. And if my wife drives down to visit me on a Long nights fishing trip, Ill have to pay either $5 for her to come down in another car, Or get another $25 Park Pride pass. I will buy 1 Pass, But it wont be with any Pride.

Thanks alot Gov. Taft:mad:

JUST A LITTLE EDUCATION FOR YOU. I THINK THE STATE OF OHIO HAS DONE A MAGNIFICENT JOB WITH THEIR PARK SYSTEM. AND YOU BUCKEYES CAN BE JUSTLY PROUD OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED THERE IN THE LAST THIRTY YEARS OR SO.

IN 1973 I WENT BACK TO OHIO TO VISIT FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND WAS ACCOMPINIED BY WIFE AND 4 KIDS. WE WERE GOING ON A PICNIC TO A LITTLE PLACE IN DAYTON CALLED EASTWOOD PARK. I USED TO GO THERE OFTEN AS A LITTLE KID MYSELF. UPON ENTERING THE PARK I WAS STUNNED AT THE LOOKS OF THE PLACE BUT BEING A VIETNAM VET IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME ALL THAT MUCH, I WAS USED TO FILTH AND BOMB CRATERS AND SUCH.

ONE THING THAT MADE ME TAKE NOTICE THOUGH WAS THE TYPICAL HARLEY CROWD ALONG WITH THERE LOUD ABRASIVE BEHAVIOR WAS ALCOHOL AND DRUGS. YOU COULD SMELL MARY JANE ALL OVER THE PLACE. MY WIFE AND I LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND WE PACKED UP AND LEFT. THIS WAS FAIRLY STANDARD OF THE PARK SYSTEM IN OHIO AT THAT TIME. THE MAD RIVER RAN THROUGH THE PARK AND WAS SO POLLUTED YOU COULD WALK FROM ONE RIVER BANK TO THE OTHER AND NEVER GET YOUR FEET WET.

I WAS BACK A FEW YEARS AGO TO VISIT AND WENT TO EASTWOOD PARK AGAIN. COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES. THE PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL, NO GARBAGE LAYING AROUND, AND PEOPLE HAVING FUN, FOR THE MOST PART. THERE WAS ONE PROBLEM WITH QUEERS IN THE REST ROOMS BUT THAT WAS BEING TAKEN CARE OF.

THE RIVER HAS BEEN CLEANED UP TO THE POINT IT IS ALMOST PRISTINE. FACT IS I WAS FLY FISHING UNDER ONE OF THE UNDERPASSES AND EXCEPT FOR THE TRAFFIC AND BEING ABLE TO SEE THE DAYTON SKYLINE I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I WAS ON A TROUT STREAM IN THE WEST SOMEWHERE. IT WAS A GREAT EXPIERENCE. AND I WILL COME BACK. FACT IS I'LL BE BACK IN SEPTEMBER FOR MY HIGH SCHOOL 50 TH REUNION. BOY WILL THAT BE FUN, MAKIN' FUN OF ALL THE BALD FAT GUYS. LOL. I'M STILL A SKINNY GUY WITH LOTS OF HAIR.

BACK TO THE PARKS. I THINK THE ALCOHOL RULES ARE GREAT. AND NO I AM NOT A TEETOTALER. I'VE DRANK MORE THAN MY FAIR SHARE. ASK JIM BEAM IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME.

SO YOU CAN BE PROUD OF YOUR STATES PARK SYSTEM AND REMEMBER THOSE FOLKS THAT PATROL THE PARKS WITH LAW AND ORDER ARE ABOVE MINIMUM WAGE CATEGORIES BECAUSE THEY ARE COLLEGE GRADS.

IT SURE WOULDN'T BOTHER ME ONE LITTLE BIT TO PAY AN ENTRY FEE FOR THE PARKS. EVEN HERE IN NORTH DAKOTA THERE ARE FEES AT SOME PARKS. AND WE DON'T HAVE BUCKET LOADS OF MONEY LIKE YOU EASTERNERS DO.

AT LEAST YOU DON'T HAVE TO WALK AROUND GARBAGE AND DRUG NEEDLES LIKE IN THE PAST. CONSIDER YOURSELF FORTUNATE NOW.

WELL ENOUGH OF MY TIRADES. GOT A RIFLE THAT JUST CALLED ME THAT WANTS TO BE FIRED.

TAKE CARE AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS, EVEN THOUGH IT COSTS YOU A FEW CENTS.

I know this is kinda old and over and done with,..but I would like to chime in on my experience as for paying to access a State Park.

I lived in Upstate Ny for about 5 yrs. and man let me tell ya,..There aint nuttin free in that state.
State parks there charge you for entering the park, and u pay for parking your vechicle.Along with other charges you also pay for your hunting tags, animal tags etc.
NY is very costly when it comes to hunting. And when u hunt NY you better know your place, and where to hunt.

It is a huge state but it offers nothing compared to Ohio.NY`s public hunting areas are few and far between, and a joke !!

When deer season comes in here in Ohio,U will see deer in fields and in truck beds etc. In NY ,..you are lucky if you see a deer anywhere, let alone any in a truck bed.

NY`s hunting season sucks,They have split the state as for Rifle hunting area and shotgun hunting area.Their bow season REALLY sucks,..it comes in after the gun season, and you might as well forget bow hunting in NY UNLESS you own your own land or lease it.And have some control on who hunts it and when.

Ohio is a great place to hunt, and Ohio has alot to offer.
But this year has proven to me that Ohio`s public hunting areas are being hunted out,and soon will be nothing but a hang out or picnic area (s).

I thought I would chime in on this,..
Later All

Hunt Safe
And
SAFE HUNTING !!
