338Mag.......You might want to give those Hornady 160 grainers a try in your new barrel! I had friends years ago who swore by those bullets on moose and the penetration they gave when shot
around the 2600fps velocity mark. Now at 2750fps those bullets would start to fragment or slip a jacket I was told.

I tried to purchase a new model 70 Winchester .264 magnum sometime back, only Winchester does not chamber the caliber anymore.......I'ts a real shame too! Looks like you got your .264 mag shooting very well now.....Good Luck with your new toy!:)

a freind of mine orderd a 264 featherweight a few years ago. took a long time to get it

Evan03, I went the wildcat route in search of my .264 caliber to use on mule deer next season! I took a model 70 in the caliber known as the 300WSM, jerked off the barrel and attached a new 26 inch stainless fluted one in the .264 caliber. So now I have a super smokin .264/300WSM. It rocks around the clock!:D :D

That's a well put together rifle and it looks and shoots excellently.
Your target shooting from the sitting position is pretty darn good shooting too.
