Finally got one to sit still long enough for me to park the truck and get out and shoot him. I love groundhogs this time of year, they seem so stupid when they first come out. Anyone got any yet?

Hello Catfish,

Now here you go breaking my heart again. It seems you've done this to me in previous years. My rifles are cleaned and ready, my loads are made up, but I've still got almost 2 months before I can get at the little buggers. Right now they are buried beneath a couple feet of snow. Can you get back to me in May? Best wishes.

I hit a few back in February...

Today I wandered out with my .260 and thumped one.

Waiting to bust some with a .300... thats gonna hurt one of us... dunno if it will be the vermin or me:D

Saw one today, wasn't hunting, was on the way to the feed store to get corn for my squirrels. Saw the chuck beside the road. I can hardly wait now!!!!!!

I was thinking....oh oh....not again.....but I like to let them have their young and give them a chance to get out of the holes (after june) so I have many many more targets for the summer...I think it is like planting the seed....you can eat the kernal of corn or plant it and eat the whole ear later.......but to each his own, have fun....nothing like sitting on a farm on a nice day....

I abide by this on publics lands, but the fact is, Im trying hard to keep the populations down on my property. They take too much pasture down to the ground... its time to feed the cows, not the vermin!

3 for 4 so far. Easy pickings but they've made it to the thick fencerows now and have wised up. Tough seeing them until the beans come in.
