Is there any way to use a sabot to get a small bullet (223?) to make a load for varmit use?
Maxi-hunters, maxi-balls and such tear up to much fur.
Any ideas guy's?

smokepole, the one in 28 twist or slower will not stabilize a .224 projectile. I have had a little success with the .45 cal. sabot in a .50 cal. sabot using a .40 cal. 135 gr. nosler pistol bullets, but some ML`s won`t shoot a very good group with them. There are a few (expensive) frangible .44 and .45 cal bullets out there, you might try those.
or how about an FMJ pistol bullet? i know a lot of folks like that for the purpose of shooting at minimal cost, shouldnt cause to much damage. and besides not being stable, a .224 bullet over a load of pyrodex could prove to be really weird as far as pressures and velocity

me im still looking for the 50 cal vmax
