Going to break down and get a new rifle. Looking at a 1885 Win Hi-Wall single shot in either 270 WSM or 300WSM.Dumping a BAR /w 3-9vxll Leupold, a Remington Lt-20 3inch 1100 shotgun with all the chokes and a beatup 1894, scoped with a 1-4 banner on it All of them under 10 years old and I never use these guns anymore.with Been waiting years for browning to come back out with it but without any hope on the horizon I may get the winchester. Love the gun. Only problem id that its only offered in WSM calibers, 3 of them exactly, the 270 7mm and 300 WSM. Of these three I am settling on either a 270 WSM or 300 WSM as the two most likely to still be around in 10 years. Any recommendations on the two. Whats the recoil difference between them firing a 130 in the 270 and a 165-180 in the 300. the gun should be a heavy rig once its setup(10LB). Whats the range difference between them shooting their favorite crtridges? definitely leaning towards a300 WSM unless I hear differently, via recoil etc as it seems to be much more versatile. Any recommendations or news that browning will be producing them again in more traditional calibers? Take care all.
