I'll put this up here. Maybe I was in the wrong catagory. Does anyone here know anything about ECT reamers? Are they good ..? Bad..?

ECT Reamers are being sold by Midway USA. I just want to know if they are any good.
Edited: Dunwerkin, I removed your unkind comments. Your question assumes everybody knows what ECT reamers are - and that is a dubious assumption at best. You also posted it in two forums not related to the question or product. So getting upset at a question is out of order.
I doubt you'll get any reply at all now. In light of your rudeness, I won't bother suggesting the correct forum to you.

I posted that question in good faith that someone on here could tell me if these reamers are worth buying, And Billy D comes on like a wise guy trying to make me look like I don't know what I'm talking about. I didn't apprieciate that, I am serious about the whole shooting game and I thought everyone on here was too. He was out of line and I'm getting hell for it. Only one thing to do. I'll leave this site and let the wise guys have it....... Adios My Friend.

Billy did nothing of the sort, as would be clear to anyone who actually read his reply. He said, "What is an ECT reamer?"
That's a reasonable question since you posted it in "AAG" - it could refer to anything. But it in no way cast a single aspersion on you.
You were childish as well as rude. Bye.

HI ROCKY
SORRY ABOUT STARTING A MAJOR CONFLAGRATION ON THE FORUM. BEING THAT THERE WAS A LONG TIME LAPSE AND NO ONE ELSE HAD POSTED AN ANSWER, I MADE THE COMMENT "OK I'LL GO FIRST". I FIGURED EVERYONE ELSE WAS AS CONFUSED AS I WAS. I THOUGHT THE GENTLEMAN WAS REFERING TO A CHAMBER REAMER, BUT I WASN'T SURE. AFTER WORKING AS A GUN PLUMBER FOR SOME TIME I AM COGNIZANT OF MANSON, PACIFIC TOOL AND GUAGE, CLYMERS AND PLACES TO RENT REAMERS, ELK RIDGE AND OTHERS, BUT I HAD NEVER HEARD OF ECT. THAT WAS THE CRUX OF MY QUESTION. I WASN'T TRYING TO BE A SMART A$$. I WAS TRYING TO EXTRACT INFO. I'M SORRY TO DISAPPOINT ANY ONE BUT I'LL BE THE FIRST TO TELL EVERYONE I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD THERE IS TO KNOW.
WHEN I MADE THE COMMENT THAT "THIS WILL PROBABLY BITE ME" I MEANT THAT I THOUGHT THIS WAS A PIECE OF TOOLING I SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH, BUT WASN'T.
I TALKED TO A FEW FRIENDS AND SUPPOSEDLY PACIFIC TOOL AND GUAGE MANUFACTURES THE REAMERS FOR MIDWAY AS AN EXPANSION TO PTG'S PRODUCT LINE. MAKES SENSE TO ME, TWO COMPANIES MAKE MONEY IN UNISON. NOW KEEP IN MIND THIS IS ALL GRAPEVINE INFO.
I ALSO TALKED TO MY CO-HORT, COLLEAGUE, FORMER EMPLOYER, AND ADOPTED SON AND ASKED IF HE HAS USED ANY OF THESE IE: ECT REAMERS. HE SAID HE HAD, AND THE QUALITY IS EXCELLANT.
THATS FOR YOUR EDIFICATION ROCKY.
ANY WAY MY APPOLIGIES FOR SCREWING UP YOUR FORUM, IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. I'M SORRY THE POSTER WAS SUFFERING A SEVERE CASE OF PMS, HE'S GOTTA LIGHTEN UP A BIT.

ME AGAIN
HEY I LEARNED A NEW WORD TODAY, "ASPERSION". THANK YOU. LIKE GRANDPA ALWAYS SAID, " SON, WHEN YA STOP LEARNING, YA MAY AS WELL GO LAY DOWN ON THE TRAIN TRACKS."
I'M ONLY 68 AND I STILL GOT A WAYS TO GO.
THANKS

BillyD,
Just a suggestion but you may want to release that "caps lock" key. Some people tend to interpret "CAPS" as yelling. FYI

Rick R.,
You need to look at Billy's signature line for the reason why he uses the caps lock. We have had this issue come up in the past, and I even think we debated allowing him to use all caps a couple of years ago in the mods forum.
If Dunwerking got offended because the post was all in caps, then he didn't read far enough. Plus, there really wasn't much in Billy's initial post to get offended about if someone actually read the entire post and digested it.

Billy you did absolutely nothing wrong. You've always been a model poster, and you remain so.
In fact, I'll give you another word that describes you: mansuetude.

I sure didn't know what a ECT reamer was, thank you for asking the question. I saw nothing at all disrespectful in your response to the original question. If anyone took offense to it they're going to have an awful lot of frustration through out the rest of their life. They're a bit touchy.
I'm glad Rocky caught the response so quickly so it could be edited.
As far as all caps are concerned, I think your explanation why you use all caps is clear enough and needs no further explanation. Please continue to keep posting.

Rocky,
You need to stop with the big words because I do not have a dictionary on my desk yet. Then again, I guess I could look it up on the internet somewhere. No time for that though. LOL

Fabs, I feel much better when I'm not the only one looking up words on-line. :D

Thanks for posting the definition and pronunciation Skinny. However, I still do not think I could pronounce that word if I had to.

HI GUYS
HEY FABS, I AGREE ON THE BIG WORDS. I ALWAYS KEEP A POCKET DICTIONARY AT THE KEY BOARD, BECAUSE THERE IS NO SPELL CHECK WHEN POSTING. HOWEVER ROCKY HAS CAUSED ME TO GO TO PLAN B AND USE THE WEBSTERS NEW COLLEGIATE DICTIONARY.
MY FAMILY IMMIGRATED TO THIS COUNTRY AND IT WAS ALWAYS STRESSED TO SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH AT ALL TIMES AND TO BE EDUCATED IN ALL LIFES FACETS. BOY HOW OUT OF TOUCH WERE THOSE FOLKS? NOWADAYS THEY WOULD BE PRESSURED BY THE SOCIAL ENGINEERS TO HAVE ME EDUCATED IN GERMAN, POLISH, AND YIDDISH LANGUAGES.
HEY SKINNY, I HAD TO LOOK IT UP TO. LOL
I THINK PATIENT WOULD DESCRIBE ME BETTER. IF SOMEONE REALLY OFFENDS ME THERE IS GOING TO BE TROUBLE. ALTHOUGH AFTER 27 YEARS IN THE MILITARY I DON'T OFFEND EASILY. CALL ME ANYTHING AND IT WILL LIKELY BOUNCE OFF LIKE WATER OFF A DUCKS BACK, JUST DON'T CALL ME TO CHOW. HOWEVER IF CORNERED, I CAN CUT TO THE BONE.
THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT, I APPRECIATE IT. I DON'T POST FACTS THAT ARE NOT AND IF I DON'T KNOW ABOUT A SUBJECT TOTALLY I WILL RESEARCH IT.
AGAIN, THANKS.

ManBeef? did someone say ManBeef?

It's a lawyer word, Fabs...has "sue" right at the center of it! LOL!
I pronounce it: man SU eh tood
Billy, I use the Webster's Universal Unabridged, about five inches thick and with small print. In my readings, I've come across words that aren't in it, too!

The board is good for another laugh, and I need it right now because I am working on a pro bono case where my client's vehicle was repossessed. Looks like he is up a creek.

OK, I'M EASY SO I'LL ASK THE QUESTION.
SO WHAT YOUR CLIENT DOING IN A CREEK WITH HIS CAR ALREADY? :D
fabsroman
04-27-2005, 10:41 PM
Billy,
My client's car isn't in the creek. My client is literally up a creek without a paddle. I could have used some different wording, but this is a family site.
Lesson to everybody, pay your bills on time, even if one of your friends knows the name of an attorney.

HE. HE. HE. I WAS JUST BEING A SMARTALECK. I KNEW PERFECTLY WELL WHAT YOU MEANT. I JUST WANTED TO SEE IF I COULD RATTLE YOUR SLATS.
MY MIDDLE DAUGHTER HAD THE INNATE APPITUDE OF TAKING A SENTENCE AND TOTALY WARPING IT AND SETTING IT BACK IN YOUR LAP. SHE SHOULD HAVE STUDIED LAW, BUT SHE IS AN ACCOUNTANT. FACT IS SHE IS A FINANCE OFFICER AT ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND.
WHEN YOU HAVE A BUNCH OF KIDS THERE IS ALWAYS ONE IN THE GROUP KNOWN AS "THE INFORMER". SHE WAS IT. I'M SURPRISED SHE WAS ABLE TO GROW TO ADULTHOOD.
HAVE A GOOD ONE BUD.

Billy,
I am an accountant/CPA too. That was my undergrag degree. Accounting is a lot less fun than law.
When you mention Aberdeen Proving Ground, are you talking about the one in northern Maryland? I have a couple of buddies that work there as engineers and I am pretty familiar with it.

FABS
YES, ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND MARYLAND. HER HOME IS IN HAVRE DE GRACE. THEY JUST MOVED THERE LAST YEAR FROM ALASKA. SHE WORKED AT ELMENDORF IN ANCHORAGE FOR ALMOST 12 YEARS. SHE IS A GS-13. MOMMA BIG BUCKS.
SHE STARTED OUT AS ENLISTED IN THE ARMY THEN WENT TO OFFICER RANKS AND GOT TIRED OF THE BS, APPLIED FOR THE CIVILIAN JOB AT ELMENDORF AND GOT IT. ALMOST THE SAME JOB SHE HAD IN THE MILITARY. ONE CHANGE, MORE MONEY.
I'M REALLY PROUD OF HER. SHE HAD A LOT TO OVERCOME AS A KID AFTER HER MOTHER PASSED AWAY. HER BIGGEST OBSTACLE WAS ME. I WAS KIND OF A GRINCH AFTER MY WIFE DIED. I NOT ONLY LOST MY WIFE, I LOST THE MOTHER OF MY CHILDREN, MY MISTRESS, MY HUNTIN' AND FISHING BUDDY, BUT MOST OF ALL MY BEST FRIEND. SHE KNEW ALL ABOUT ME AND STILL LOVED ME ANYWAY. I STILL MISS HER.
THE DAUGHTER IS A PEACH, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD SOME DISAGREEMENTS DURING HER TEEN YEARS, FACT IS ALL 5 KIDS TURNED OUT GREAT. THEY WERE ALL MORE DEPENDENT ON THEIR MOM THAN ME. I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT BECAUSE DURING MOST OF THEIR FORMATIVE YEARS I WAS PLAYING WAR OR ON TEMPORARY DUTY SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN HOME.
ANYWAY IF YOU ARE EVER UP AT ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND STOP IN AND SAY HOWDY TO MY KID. I SAY MY KID BECAUSE I BROUGHT HER INTO THIS WORLD, A MEDIC AND I. BUT THATS A WHOLE NUTHER STORY. HER NAME IS KATRINA MILLER AND SHE WORKS IN THE CIVILIAN PERSONNEL OFFICE. SHE'S DONE WELL FOR A NORTH DAKOTA GIRL.
WELL GOTTA GIT. HAVEN'T EATEN SUPPER YET AND I'M HUNGRY.
HAVE A GOOD ONE.

What a small world. My buddy lives in Havre de Grace right next to the base and has lived there and worked on the base for the past 8+ years. Another friend and I are going up there some time soon to get together because we have all been too busy over the past year to get together.
I'll make sure I mention your daughter's name to my buddy.
