We got home Sunday from our week of chasin gobblers.

The weather was cold and miserable all week and the Toms were very very quiet. Our first two days we didn't have much luck at all, but hubby did manage to bag his first Tom late Tuesday afternoon. He wieghed in at 21.6lbs, 8" beard, left spur 1" and right spur 13/16"...he looks kinda scruffy cause it was soo wet (the bird I mean ;) )...

Wednesday morning we headed a little further south so IcePrincess could hunt with a buddy of ours. Those two brats (our friend and IP) sure did get us good that morning but I'll let her tell that story. She came outa the bush with a very nice Tom, her first bird wieghin in at 19.62lbs, with a 9 1/4" beard and 7/8" spurs...Thank You very very much Adrian, I sure was proud of her...

Jack...that gorgeous box call you sent me last year called in a Tom for me Friday morning. :D Unfortunately he didn't quite come close enough. But, we may not be done yet. :D

My hubby is tryin real hard to convince me we can make another trip south for a couple day. Shoot he got a spiffy new box call made for him, unfortunately it arrived after we left for out trip, he's been runnin round the house fondling it since we got home. Says he has to go again so he can try it out in the proper venue. :D
