Well, there's a lot of new folks on this board so I figured I'd start the "Where'd you get your handle?" thread. Partly because I'm a nosy SOB, but mostly because it's fun.
"Tater" started about 11 years ago when I got to my first duty station in Anchorage, Alaska. My last name is Couch and a couple of the guys I worked with took to callin me Couch Potatoe. After a while, it got shortened to Couch Tater and then, just Tater. After that, it stuck. It's even on my license plate.
So, come on. spill. How did you come up with your handle? We have ways of finding out, so you better just come clean now and save your dignity.
Here goes:D :D :D

Normaly people call me by my last name, but I didnt think it would be apropreate as a handle.... So when I was trying to think of a handle I used my famly knick name.
It was given to me by my cousin when we were very young. Having a famly full of "B*ll-Busters", the name stuck:rolleyes:

I picked up DogYeller while I was training my Airedale to retrieve. It was about the same time "The Horse Whisperer" came out. and My Sister-in-law started calling me the Dog Yeller. Airedales are smart dogs but they do have their own way to do things. I had to retire him last year because of arthritis but he's still a great watch dog.

Weel, I love GSP'S and my dog is registered through AKC as Tad's Dakota Sonny and I registered here in 2003. Therefore Gspsonny03. I was going to go with GSP, but it was already taken, so that's what I came up with.

When I was a youngun..my Pop had an unusually large (well..to me anyways..I reckon in reality, I wont no bigger than a minute) redtick coonhound by the name of Big Red. Coon huntinest dog in these parts he was, and just so happened to be my best freind. Went everywheres w/ me..and always looked out after me while we were coonhuntin.
Hence..my Pop called me Lilred. Its always nice to know you was nick-named after a a big ole dog...lol:rolleyes:
The locals still call me Lilred..and most of the folks at werk now tha they know my "name".

You and John Wayne. The guys at a fire house called him "Little Duke" because his constant companion was an Airedale named Duke.
