Sounds like quite a fine cartridge. I'm surprised by the performance... sounds like a very useful, fun to shoot round.

Are you sure you mean 6 moa at 330 yrds??????? That would be abt. 19 in`s. A 6 in. group would be just under 2 moa.
MOA is min. of angle. That comes out to abt 1 in. at 100 yrds. ,or 2 in. at 200 yrds. ect.
I`ve got no idea why you would want that round, :rolleyes: , but then I really don`t know why I`ve got some of the wildcats I`ve got. :D I guess wildcats are just more fun to play with, HAVE A BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Sierra just wondering why you chose that cartridge over say the 6mm-PPC which has a great reputation as a very accurate cartridgre

The 6mm-223.....pardon my ignorance and the fact that I've been off board for some time, but....is that cartridge also known as the 6mmTCU?? Just a question, mind you. Thanks.

The 6mm-223 isn't quite the same cartridge as the 6mm TCU.
In the TCU series of cartridges, the shoulder angle is very steep, and the neck is very short- to maximize the amount of powder the case can accept.
The 6mm-223 is a straight neck up of the 223 case, retaining the original shoulder angle of the 223 cartridge.
Both cartridges use the same parent case- the 223, but the chambers are cut differently.

Great results out of the 6mm/.223. I had similar issues with that Sierra 85 HPBT bullet and stopped using it on game decades ago.

Actually, you would see no practical difference in accuracy with a 6PPC over the 6/.223 in a standard rifle. The only time the PPC shines in equally-built rifles is in BR competition, with heavy, purpose-built bench guns. There is no accuracy advantage in a hunting rifle, and in fact there isn't much in a BR rifle; it's just that an extra 0.05" smaller group makes all the difference in that sport.
