I plan on doing some bear hunting this year, and I have a Remington 700 30-06,and I load my own shells.I loaded some shells useing 200 grain nosler partition bullets, for elk hunting. The first elk I shot went about 100 feet and stood there wobbling,I shot again and he went down for the count. The second elk I shot was on the run and it went down on the first shot.I would like some advice on what type ,and grain of bullet should I use to bring down a black bear for the count, that would be between 300 and 400 pounds.I all ways aim for the heart.I don't want to have to hunt for a wounded bear in the brush. So if anyone could give me some good advice I would greatly appreciate it.
