This is a 22lb carp my 5yr old caught last night. Almost as big as he is. :) Caught on a little Zebco reel and soft rod with 8lb line.

Hes a proud little boy. And, Im a proud daddy. ;)

That's one heckuva fish..and got it on 8 lb test...his pa musta taught him good..that's quite a feat fer a lil fella. My son caught a 5 lb bass when he was 6..he got so excited, he startin runnin up the hill backwards w/ pole in hand as fast as his lil feet could tote him..fergittin altogether to keep reelin LOL..so good job on gittin that big fish in!

Thanks Lilred. He sure was excited. Both my boys have been fishing since they could hold a pole. We leave our camper at the river for a few months each summer and they fish full time. Its funny to watch them. Thats his big brother, 11, holding him up in the one pic. They absolutely live to fish, and hunt.

He sure was excited. I had to help him get it in, he was gonna go water sking if I didnt. :D But, he did a heck of a job. Took a good 30 minutes, maybe more, to coax that thing in with that little rod. Hardest part was to keep Grant settled down from horsing it and let it tire out. He had a hard time with that. :D

Thanks again. The grin says it all.
