Just got back from New Brunswick sunday....rain rain rain was the word of the day for 6 days.....the state bird...(skeeter) was flying high and mighty and the sound of them running their drill over the steel when you entered the woods was music I could have done without.....maybe it was the knife and fork they toted....but all in all...5 out of 7 got bears...only one I had a shot at was a nice sow with her cubs so they are still running around happy and getting fatter...guess not a meat hunter.....and who would want a bear smaller than my boxer dog anyhow....great fun to watch like kids in a candy store..........and bullwinkle had to stroll past a few times....I learned rabbits eat fish too....now that is different from the ordinary in my book....must of been the salt...good friends, great food and a great time....working on going back in 07...
born to be outdoors.....thanks dad

Congratulations. It sounds like you had a great time. New Brunswick was talking about cancelling the Spring bear hunt several years ago to cut down on the number of orphaned cubs. I guess they're old enough now to make it on their own. I think you misunderstand the status of the mosquito. Some say it's really the New Brunswick Provincial bird. I get the feeling you really earned your bear. Best wishes.

Well even though it cost a few $$ to go for this hunt, the sow and cubs are still there.........No I didn't shoot any of them.......Let mom have the newborns etc..I couldn't shoot a mom off the cubs I just enjoyed watching them....now last years cubs are getting run off by mom now and are shooters this year but still want a bigger one....will have to wait and see what 07 will bring..maybe a big bore....
skeeters=local birds....yep...got that right..lol....oh by the way, I didn't get one skeeter bite ...maybe they respected the BIG SKEETER.....lol...
This reminds me of archery hunting one day and a big doe jumped into the field right in front of me...I had a nice shot but heard another deer on the way..(maybe daddy one)..so after waiting some...got to watch a fawn nurse for the first time about 15 yds from me....now that was worth the wait in anyones eyes..
