Today at 9:30 CST Sam took his last breath. He waited for me to come home from work and as soon as I patted him on the side and said it's ok Bud he took his last breath and died.

I knew when I checked on him this morning it wouldn't be long. But he waited for me. He never waited for me for anything else but at the end he waited for me to say good by. I gotta stop now, we're gonna put him in a spot on a little creek where he can chase coons and possums any time he want's to.

He turned 13 years on the 23rd of June.

HEY PARDNER

I CAN'T SAY I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, BUT I KNOW HOW I FELT A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I LOST MY BUDDY OL' BEAU.

LIKE YOU SAY, NOW SAM CAN HUNT ANY TIME HE WANTS TO AND IF HE DON'T FEEL LIKE HUNTIN' HE CAN JUST LAY AROUND IN THE WARM SUN.

SORRY.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the pain passes quickly and the fond memories come quickly.

My condolences.
It's never easy.
I've heard that Heaven is the place where, when you walk thru the door, all the dogs you've ever had come to greet you.
Hope it's true.

My condolences. I just feel terrible when I read that someone has lost a friend like that, but like Fabs said I hope the memories last forever, and with luck you will meet again beyond the bridge.

Thanks, all.

I burried Sam under an old Oak tree on my brothers place. Now he's got a heard of goats to keep an eye on.

Nothing I can say will fill the void left behind but you have my sympathy.

Having 3 hounds myself I know the day will come and I'm sure I'll never be ready.
