anyone used the rocket steelhead broadhead on elk? I have used the steelhead on mule deer and had great sucess...however I am a little worried about the size difference with elk.

I've never tried them starcraft, but the only head I use on Elk are fixed b/h's. Personally, I would not use mechanical b/h's. I've heard of too many lost or wounded Elk. Seems lack of penetration is the culprit. Although there are a good number of b/h's on the market, I favor the Rotharr Snuffer. They are one tough b/h. Good hunting this fall, grayghost

thanks for the help, I just got back from my elk hunt. I used a montec g5 and got a complete pass-through.

Congrats on your success! Fixed b/h's just stay together better, especially if they have to break bone. Much better penetration is the rule rather than exception. Good hunting, grayghost
