OK...fore I start goin off like a butane lighter on a woodstove..i will admit to not knowin exactly what the new York Times and them victims families (er whoever they are) are exactly suin the city over. I know it's money..and from what I heared on the news, it's because they are sayin that the NY Fire Dept, to make a long story short, aint do their job at ground zero.
So iffin I need correctin..then dam straight correct me...but i think i got the jist of it anyways.
With that milk split on the floor..now I'm gittin to stompin in it...
and I have this to ponder...iffin any human bein..trained er untrained, civilian or military, old er young..could find or make any sort of order in that poor, sad mess..than yer better than any human walkin. How could anybody sit there and sue dead people? In reality, they aint suin the city, they're suin the firefighters. They just aint really doin that cause they dont make enuf money and they would probaly be shunned by all America.
They gave their lives so others might live...period. Instead of standin there and goin.."OK Joe...you git all them people trapped in that buildin and take em 2 blocks over..and hey..Harry..you take all them people jumpin out them winders and rush them to safety 3 blocks down."
HELLO you friggin goobers...they had (gasp) no time fer that!
We sat there and watched all of it unfold in less than 2 hours.
They did all they could do..they ran in to get who they could...and over 300 fellas paid dearly fer that.
I would LOVE to ask every one of them complete and utter idgits what they would do..what sort of organized game plan would they come up with?
So, you take a tragedy..and turn it into a friggin court circus..and release tapes that flare the fires all over again. Maybe it's a good thing..we need that fire. So as we dont fergit.
And here's another one fer ya..that lady..(fergot her name) that was sittin roadside by the ranch Pres. Bush was at wantin to talk to him....I hope she's listenin..cause here's what i got to say.
While it's terrible that she lost her child..that is terrible for any parent..but ya know..he VOLUNTEERED for the U.S Army.
He understood, that we when he enlisted, that you are in a (ta-da) army..which..all armies stand the chance of goin to war.
Do you really think that cops never git shot at? Firefighters never git burned? And our troops will not ever go to war? Or die in one?
That's like hirin cops and never sendin em on the street! And..ya know..she aint the only person ever to lose a husband, child or family member in a war.I think everyone has had a family member lost in such a thing..mine has had many.
But without those folks out there...doin their duty..and knowin that this day could be their last..we would all have lost our country years and years ago. Who is going to avenge his death? Who is going to avenge the deaths of all others??
And who is willing to look death square in the face for a right?
For those of you who dont know..I'm a history buff..particulary in my state and the Civil War. Partly because my state is littered with the traces of war to this day..and because from both sides of my family, I had over 17 men serve in the Civil War for the Northern Army of VA...and 5 great uncles who served in WW2.
I collect books, and other "cool stuff" from the Civil War era...and I want to give ya'll a quote from of my collected books..the writings of Dr. Bagby compiled in 1885.
This is a quote from a speech given by Dr. Bagby in 1877.
"We also of the South are great-greater in defeat, in the grandeur of self-restraint, we are greater in defeat than in war.
Why cannot these two peoples come together without gush, fanfaronade or mental reservation and be good freinds, be one people, absolutley. All good men in both sections ardently desire it. Why cannot it be? I do not know. "
The point in that: there will always be war and there will always be men who will have to die for it. God rest their souls.
