Hello, I just joined up. I've been viewing this forum for awhile and have learned allot. My first post is a question about Taurus revolvers. I just purchased a Taurus model 44, .44 mag. This isn't a ragging bull, but a slimmer verision. I haven't gone to the range yet so I don't know how it'll shoot. It handles nice, good balance and the sights line up quick. Does anyone else have feedback on Taurus revolvers. I worry about it holding up. I've owned Ruger and Smiths. I plan on using it huntin next month so I'll be doin allot of trigger time at the range with it in the next couple of weeks.

well i first want to welcome you to huntchat and i hope to hear from you more, but about the taurus revolvers i haven't shot a big caliber gun but i have shot a 9 shot .22 and it is an amazingly accurate gun. it would do a number on a rabbit or too but i don't know anything about the .44

Lone wolf has one and has shot deer with his.
Taurus stands behind what they sell so i dought you wont be happy.
Taurus realy steped up when smith sold out to the gun grabers
I have a pt92 it will do every thing the berreta will do at 100 dollers cheaper with a better warrenty.

I have a PT101 .40S&W, and a (i think) model 66 Taurus .357
both are good firearms, andi have had no problems with either.
the PT101 i have had since 1992, with probably 10-12k rounds through it.
the .357 i have had since 1996 i believe, and roughly 3k rounds through it with no problems.

Made it to the range today. The Taurus performed well. The ejector started getting sticking after a hundred rounds, but only with PMC ammo, I switched to Winchester white box and some speer and it worked fine. The accuracy was dead on and the grip and factory porting made shooting pleasant enough. Nice gun.
