View Full Version : Camo as in public clothing?
Whats the take on this. Im not talking about the homeys who think its cool to wear realtree pants with their timberland boots. Im just curious what's going on when i go to a block shoot or a sports show and half the crowd is head to toe in there early season archery garb as if to say "i need to show off these new saddle cloth pants" . Some where it all the time and its just part of their wardrobe rotation. Just curious where some of you folks stand on this,

I say wear what you want and don't worry about what others think.

i almost always wear bdu pants. they are comfortable, i can get lots of stuff in the pockets. the legs don't bind me like wranglers or levis do. even the relaxed fit in jeans suck.
as i wore bdu's in some form for 27 years in the military, they don't bother me at all.
besides that i'm proud to tell everone i'm a sportsman by the clothing i wear. if they don't like my clothing, tough tuna. when in public i am polite, don't curse, unlike some folks who are the raison d'etre nowadays and can't complete a sentence without at least 4 expletives in it.
besides that, up here where we have july, august and winter militay clothing is more serviceable and warmer than civies. and much cheaper to purchase.
howsome ever i do know how to dress up. i don't wear cammies to church, doctor appointments and such. i do have 3 piece suits, sport jackets etc. for special ocassions.
if anybody doesn't like clothes that make you look like a hunter, bowman or fisherman by golf clothes.
my 2 cents worth. so there.

Realtree seems to be in vouge with the kiddies that go to the University of Florida.
70% of these kids look like they have more experience with daddys platinum card, that with a rifle or fishing pole.
It kinda makes me sick in a way. Although it does look great on the cute females :D .

Gregarat,
Almost anything looks good on the "cute" women. LOL
As far as wearing camo as an everyday thing, I just do not do it. I have very little camo that is light weight and the ones that are light weight I just do not prefer over my jeans.
I tend to wear jeans and Ducks Unlimited T-shirts around the house. I wear business casual when meeting clients and suits when in Court. Most people are shocked when they see me without a DU T-shirt on. For some reason, I just have no desire to thrown on a set of camo in the morning just to hang out.
As far as wearing whatever one wants to wear, I think there is a time and place for everything. I won't wear a suit to a duck blind and I won't wear camo to Court.
I cannot stand people that have their pants 20 sizes to large and hanging off their rear. I guess I really do not see the point in wearing camo every day unless you cannot afford your camo and regular every day clothes, or as in Billy's case, the camo just feels more comfortable to you.
People shouldn't be ashamed of being hunters, but we also do not need to flaunt it. I have enough stickers on my car to let people know that I use firearms and hunt that I do not need to emerge from the vehicle wearing camo just to make a statement.
