Anybody tried American Pioneer powder yet?

I saw a magazine article by Jim Shockey, renowned muzzleloader hunter where he fired over 5500 shots through his muzzleloader without cleaning. And to boot he had it clean with only 2 patches soaked with water. Sounds too good to be true. Is it? Any of you guys using it? I've tried to find it to no avail around here. I'm wondering how consistent of groups will you get with it.

Apparently a bunch of hype. You might want to read THIS POST (http://modernmuzzleloader.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1120) on another forum (You may have to log in there to read it.) Chuck is a straight shooter in more ways than one.

I am hearing nice things about Goex Pinnacle in FFFg though. Had figured them to be the same powder since APP makes both, but I guess the Pinnacle is a different formulation.

I've tried their version of powder pellets, and fouling is terrible (the worst I've seen in anything other than black powder). I wouldn't advise you to waste any money on it.

Wasn't that sold under the name of Black Canyon several years ago? I tried it then since it said would not foul and easy to clean. It was extremely course, large uneven granules, did not seem to measure 1 to 1 and performance at that time was terrable. But then again I was useing a TC Hawken with buffalo balls. But it did the job when everything went right. Ie deer and no rain.
To make it short I think I will stick with the pyrodex pellets, or go to a Savage ml10 and shoot smokeless, especially if I want easier clean up and less fouling.
