Broadhead target

Ok..so we have ideas on target arrow stoppers....and they work fine...but what is a good cheap way to build one that lasts for broadheads?...styrofoam leaves all those little white things everywhere and the weather makes it fall apart...cardboard?..any plans would be of help....thanks

I'm told that plastic grocery carry bags inside a nylon nesh feed sack works. Unfortunately I shoot a crossbow at 150 lbs so it just goes through most commercial targets except the dense/layered foam.

thanks..I made one for field tips stuffing a burlap bag with plastic shrink wrap and bags...works good there but the broadheads do make a mess of things....I shoot the horton 200lb xbow and this stops the field points well...and I just went out and bought a broadhead target...yep...my arrows go in to the fletch but it stops them even at 20yds...I was thinking of cardboard boxes stacked in layers and made tight wrap...but maybe another day

cardboard works,so do old ceiling tiles or buffalo board,best thing is that hi density plastic foam stuff that computers come packed in...
pretty simple to build,just need a couple of 2x10's the length that you want your backstop wide,and 4 pieces of ready rod,or all thread or whatever you want to call it,a bit longer than you want your backstop high.
stack your backing material up and sandwich between the 2x10's using the the ready rod to tighten it all down.you will have to drill 4 holes in each 2x10.

I always use old ceiling tiles and make the backstop a foot thick.They last a long time even with broadheads and never worried about passthrough,shootin 140gr.bear razors on 2317 @ 84lbs outta a high country safari hunter.

We always used hay bails. stack them three wideand four tall in a teated wood frame with a tarp covering them. They last a couple of seasons and then became multch for the garden and trees.
My brother tried stacking cardboard so you could shoot "on edge" but it wasn't as good as the hay and was harder to get rid of. I don't have the room to shoot bow in my yard anymore so I haven't done it in years.
