Going hunting in a very very packed area but I am looking forward to it. Why you ask? because most of the hunters out there are lazy. They drive around the backroads looking for deer. They don't realize they pass most of them on the way.
let me give you an example:
last november/december i was looking for coyotes to shoot in an OLD burn. this burn is in the area that gets pounded by hunters. i took a shot a ground squirrel perched on a slab of granite. took a couple shots and missed. something off to my right cought my attention. it was a VERY nice buck running out of the bottom of the draw. the bottom is a ways down there and choke with brush. i figure that's where the bucks go when pressure gets thick. most hunters won't walk to the bottom. i will.
i figure that's where i'll hunt deer this year. it's somewhat close to the road after you turn off the highway. almost everyone i know passes it up to get to a higher elevation. i figure some rain or cold weather and the deer will drop down into thos lower lands.
it will be a one man deer drive. those blacktails usually stop after bolting to have another look, right?
