Anybody use one?
I'm thinking it wouldn't be too hard to build one.
Anyone know of anyone who has plans to built one?
Our local river doesn't have enough water in it in the fall to run a boat motor so the longtail just might work.

Are you talking of the type of motor like the Go-Devil ? I hunted in my buddy's this morning for the first time. Kohler engine with a drive shaft coming out the back with a propellor on it. For shallow lakes & sloughs they're unbelievable. Kind of clumsy, no reverse or neutral on them so I don't know how maeuverable it would be on a river. If there's enough water to float a boat that's all they need to run.

Yes they are also called Mud Buddy.
Maneuverability would be a problem but I'd probably be the only one on the river.

I think you'd need a good trolling motor to go with it. They're unbelievable where they can go, but they're clumsy. No reverse or neautral on them.

Couple of guys on the lake last night using them for gators...makes for a long hunt for them...but they do great in the swamp...

I'd like to give one of these things a try.

I have a bevertail and once you get use to them they are not too bad to get around with. They will go just about anywhere. They do take some getting use too though.
