Anyone make their own Texas rag goose decoys?

no but i guess i should, a friend that i hunt with has started a few years back, he buys the material from cabelas, uses one of eurosealers that are for sealing snack bags, and buys galvanized poles with a hook on the end from a taxidermy supply. dirt cheap, and in the right wind i have seen geese choose the rags over sillouettes. I just wish he didnt feel like throwing a hundred snow rags out behind our canada spread, i swear it spooks the canadas and this year i am putting my foot down!

kt,
If you were hunting Specklebellys I could see it but in the area of my blind I have thousands of Snows that grind in the fields surrounding me. I have never seen any Canada Geese associate with the Snows. The Specs pour in right next to the Snows but stay segregated.

Put your foot down! :D

Last I checked, snows were much more aggresive than canadas and would chase canadas off a field. Definitely tell your friend to leave the snow rags at home if you are hunting canadas.

sorry if there was a misunderstanding, and not to change the topic. we mix canada rags in with canada full bodies or sillouettes and all is fine or just put the canada rags behind our canada full bodies. but when the snows are added off behind the hunt goes in the toilet. last year i had to laugh the one day, we saw hundreds upon hundreds of geese and so many would lock up 200 yds out and my cousin would say, get ready this group is money in the bank, i mean backflipping and all! around 60 yds group after group trailed off and picked up steam. so when they decided not to play fair i fixed them for good. i moved my blind out of the spread and about 70 yds to the right. the direction they let the wind carry them after they gave up on landing with us. next bunch tried the same BS and unknowingly flew right over my head. 3 shots later i was allllll done for the day.

one more thing about the rags, this technique works well until winds approach 40 mph gusts, they cant handle the force and the back end of the bag blows out at the seam
