Hey everyone, got my power back late yesterday afternoon, had a nice generator and powered my neighbors appliances (5000 KW) had local TV with the help of rabbit ears...I had wanted to throw those things out forever..had plenty of gas...my guy hoards everything, my food stayed good so I fed a few neighbors, lost water for about three days, came back, no pressure, now its full force, but still on a boil water order, fences blew down, but are being put back as we speak, dogs loved that one***..looks like a war zone, but we sure ate good..I honestly think I am the most prepared person I know...and overall I think we skated thru this compared to others...lost all the citrus trees..reason to do new landscaping...my advise to anyone anywhere...stock up on the gas and water and for sure get a generator....for any emergencies, anywhere in the country...Oh and charcoal or propane are in big demand...

Glad to hear that you and yours are okay and faired well from your preparedness. Unfortunately, I dread the day that folks in my neck of the woods have to deal with that scale of an emergency:rolleyes: as most are so dependant upon the govmt for everything as it is.

Glad things are going better and those generators are a great thing for sure. We used them during ice storms in these parts but the last few years we havn't had the problem. Yesterday it was +70 so looks like another dry year in the West .

Sorry to hear about all the destruction but glad to hear that everyone is Ok. I was thinking about you while the storm was going on, hoping that you all were doing fine. You guys have sure had your share of storms this year and I'll bet you're glad that the season is about over with. I'm glad to hear that the dogs are good, but I really hate to hear about the citrus trees. Every time I get a tree that's about 5 or 6 years old it dies, so I dig it up and replant and it takes forever for them to get big. Take care of yourself. ;)
