somhow at about age 11 i got a hold of the remington country catalog. i would read through lookn at the rifles shotguns everything. think i read that catalog front to back 1000 times.

as times changed my wants changed. i no longer wanted the raised cheek on the but and open sites arent my thing but are handy if the scope fails.

Guess as a kid I dreamed of the Mod 70...course, then they were still made...the ole fashion way! I've owned a lot of other things but still get rid of them and keep the pre 64's. Last I've got that is not is the 700 Classic 338.....that one is listed on Swap
thread!

I read the Remington catalogs and wanted a .280 Remington in a Model 725. At the time I was cutting grass and the price of the rifle was well beyond my limited means. Some years would pass before I acquired a new Remington bolt action rifle and that was a .270. I finally got a 7mm Express (.280 Remington) 700 BDL. All the best...

im almost sure i was lusting over the 3006 at the time, because that was the only caliber in exsistince in my small world. this was before my 270 showed up one day at the house.

hmmmmmmm now that i get to thinkn about i think dad held onto my 270 for 12 years without shooting it. he either had it for 10-12 years the rifle was made from 82-84.

i bet he kept it for me that long. id of never made it. anyways i got the rifle brand new in the box on my 11 or 12th birthday. now shes taken around 7 bucks and one bull elk.

kinda thinkn i want to get dad the 700bdl. his rifle is the bdl in 3006, nope changed my mind a mtn rifle in stainless laminated.
ill scope it and get my overal lenght on the bullets before i hand it to him. he likes tough bullet. his bullet of choice in the partition. id have to go against the grain and load him triple shocks.

anyways im getn way of track.

I wanted a Winchester Model 94 in 30-30. My dad hated them however, and I ended up with a 30-06.

Thanks Evan,I love it.I want to try my hand at coyotes this year.
I know it'll be a challenge with working 6 days a week steady days. But I've done real good on the jacks so I think given the chance at a running yote would be lots of fun.Last year I got a fox on the run at 300 yds.on my 4th. shot. Ken ;)

Mine was an AR-15 and I got finally got one a few years back. Now I just need the $$$ to customize it a little. The next rifle I'd like to get is a smaller-caliber varmint rifle like the .220, 22-250, 25-06, etc.

Ever since reading a copy of Calling All Varmints when I was 14 I have longed for a Mk V in .257. I finally bought one for myself a few years ago - an Accumark, and they aren't kidding!
