Late Season Bow Hunting Activity

Thought that I'd kick-start this thread some since it's been awhile since someone has posted in here.

So...what say you? Anybody doing any late season bowhunting still or are all of your tags filled along with venison in the freezer?:D

I'm hoping to sneak away for a couple of days between X-Mas and New Years.

going to try and get out Sat Morning. I've MLed up couple of times this month, but now we have bow season until Jan 1. Hopefully I can somehow fill a tag yet:rolleyes:

Yeah, I've still got a doe tag to fill myself although the property that I hunt has proved very challenging after the beginning of December.

The deer use it more as short distant transient routes to neighboring property that holds the winter mast and I have been insofar to intercept them late in the season.:rolleyes:

It's finally warmed up some from the below zero and single digit temps so at least it should be a little more tolerable!

I'M HEADING DOWN TO SD TO TRY AND ARROW SOME DOES ( WT AND MULEY) NEXT MONTH. HAVE 4 TAGS SO HOPEFULLY I CAN PUT SOME MEAT IN THE FREEZER. ALSO WANT TO ARROW MY FIRST OF EACH OF THOSE SPECIES.

usly do a flintlock cant get in to camp .so Ill probably hunt from house with bow.If its not to cold

I got a mule deer buck last weekend and have two doe tags to fill yet .

Dropped a yearling doe last night!
Unfortunately it was with my company demo truck:(

Nothing left for meat at all.

A buck and this fawn came out, I tagged the fawn. While the police are writing the report, the buck comes back and walks in front of my truck!!!!
All in a less than a quarter mile of my subdivision.

How big was the buck LW? Did the doe do much damage to your truck?

How do those managed hunts work? (Apply for a special permit, etc.) and do you see any other hunters out in the areas that you hunt? I've always wondered about em but don't actually know anybody that has actually participated in them.

The buck I missed was a 6 or 8 pter. Nice avg farm area buck, maybe a 12" spread. Who am I kidding, I'd have shot the little one, at this point in the season, with no meat.:p

I am in a group that does deer managment for the city. We hunt in places deep inside the city limits where no other hunting is allowed. Frankly, most of the areas we hunt are so tight that nobody would want to hunt them.
We do have to meet special requirements and possess a hunting license, but the tags are provided by the state.
