Just curious if anyone around here is heading to the SHOT Show in Las Vegas in February.

I'll be there, but as a working stiff.

I'll be filling ears at the E.A.R. Inc booth #7235. That's near the entrance of the first hall on the right. It's along the major walkway in the center of Aisle 7200.

Stop by and buy a book. I'll have a few on hand to sign - when I'm not stuffing ears, that is.

I'll be sure to swing by. We'll be in booth 6777 if you get enough time to break away.

I know what you mean. Most years, I never even get a bathroom break, much less "walk around" time.

Oh, and welcome to Hunt Chat!

Thanks for the welcome. Last year was our first show, and we didn't have a booth, so all we had was walking around time. And it was a LOT of walking!

what kind of hearing protection do you market Rocky?

I am going to have to keep the SHOT show in mind next year. I had never been to Vegas until our honeymoon and I had a pretty good time there, except for the July heat. I'll have to see if I can make the show next year. It won't be hard to sell the trip to the wife because she likes Vegas too and her parents love it. In fact, her parents are going out there some time next month.

I'm a dealer for E.A.R. Insta-Mold (http://www.earinc.com) and I work in their booth at SHOT.

Fabs, the SHOT Show is not open to the public. You have to be an FFL-holder, a rep of a gun store, a known writer or otherwise proven industry member (product maker, for example). If they ever opened that thing to the public, there'd be no moving at all in those aisles. As it is, some 150,000 people go through the place every day. Most aisles become one-way just because it'd be impossible to go against the traffic flow!

We walked that entire thing last year (our first time there) just to get responses to our camouflage. I don't think I've ever put in as many miles in one day as during that show.

Yup. There are more than 13 MILES of aisles in the SHOT Show!

So, I'll just have to become one of the above before I can go. No problem.

That's right.

See if you can get your favorite gun shop to write a letter naming you as their SHOT rep.

Be advised that while you can ogle, fondle and drool over the new stuff, you can't buy any guns there. In fact, there's precious little you CAN buy. Most booths are manufacturers showing their new stuff and taking bulk orders from stores, but very few booths sell "onesies" to attendees.

Rocky,

I barely ever buy anything from shows that I attend. I just go to see what is out there and to actually/literally get my hands on these things. I like to see and feel something before I buy. Plus, it might give me more topics for this board. LOL
