Hey, that's cool! I like the gear that comes with it too! Since I have the 9mm and the 40S&W, I'll HAVE to get the 45ACP. It just wouldn't be right NOT to have it! ;) :p
Hey GOB I thought I would never own a plastic gun untill last year.My wife liked the feel of the Glock. After shooting a couple of them I bought her one and am considering a Glock or possibly a Taurus 24/7 in .45 .You're never to old to change your mind!!.:)

course I am also thinking about just picking up the 4" standard. Anybody shot a tactical and a standard in any caliber know if there is a real accuracy/recoil/any difference in them?

tree doc, if its a collectors set your after dont forget the GAP!
they seem to be really well made all except for the finish from what i gather in other chat rooms, cant say from personal experience though

I was glad to hear that the XD now comes in a .45 I've shot my brother-in-laws XD in 9mm and have been nothing but impressed. Not a big fan of the plastic pistol but it's a nice one I don't ever think that it will take the place of my Para Ord Tac 4 stainless .45 in myh holster but the XD is a good reliable pistol none the less!
I recently picked up a XD 45 Tactical and i love it,shoots well for a fixed sight pistol and no probs so far.

What really sucks is the living in the People's Republic of Massachusetts we cannot purchase any Springfield products as they are not compliant with the awful set of rules that have forced on Hand Gun manufactures who want to do business in the Republic.
Springfield, A Massachusetts company told the state to fry there a$$, they wouldn't cave to them. This is fine but I cannot buy anthing new from Springfield.
Damn that sucks i thought Kanada was bad !!

I have an XD40 in the 4" Service Model (OD Green) and I've had no problems whatsoever. Smooth recoil, comes back on target, easy to disassemble and clean, I'd recommend one to anybody. I'll be looking at the compact model once I get back home from the ROK for a CCW

If you just buy a "plastic" pistol to put it in your collection, no problem. But if you buy it to shoot often, do some research. The first "plastic" pistols are not supposed to shoot lead bullets and they do go to pieces if you shoot them. They are great to pack but do not have a long service life. I don't know if that applies to the Springfield pistols.
