my 30-378 is having a problem... i can load a round into the chamber just fine but when i shoot it it hard to open the bolt theres a mark on the headstamp and the ejector button has some brass in the holeand the button is depressed,,, its the same load i have shot before and i cant figure it out,, i am going to take it to a gunsmith but i dont know of a good one in the mesa az area,,, if you guys no of one or may know what i should look at i would be really greatfull for the info,,,, thanks c bryant
ps its an accumark mark 5 stainless

from your description it sounds like you have some robust loads. if those are reloads, pull the bullets and measure your charges. also make sure it is the correct powder. better yet dump the powder and start over with the correct powder and charge weight.
don't shoot any more of those rounds.

That is exactly what I thought while I was reading that post. If it is factory ammo, buy another box from a different manufacturer or different lot number and see if you have the same problem.
The marks on the case head and difficult extraction are both signs of severely excessive pressure in your loads.
Definitely stop shooting them until you find out what the problem is.
Billy D's idea of pulling the bullets and measuring the charges will tell you if you have the correct amount of powder in your loads........ wouldn't tell you if you put the wrong powder in , though.
But, I would suggest taking the rifle, the fired cases, and your reloads to a gunsmith and have him go over it.

All sound advise. What you describe is definitely signs of excessive pressure.
