for my CCW class here in Michigan. Decided I had a little extra cash, and wanted to get it before they try to change the law again. Its in a couple of weeks from now. In fact I just realized it's Daytona race weekend:eek:
I'll have to get back to the house quick, and still be able to catch the race.
I was able to talk one of my employees to sign up with me. He's never even shot a gun before, but is interested. Hopefully, I can start another gunnut on his way:cool:
The class I am taking is supposed to be a little more in depth. It will cover basic firearm handling (perfect for my employee) as well as more in depth defensive shooting. We actually will be firing 200+ rounds in class. Even though I have a decent understanding of handling and shooting, I'm sure I'll greatly benefit from this class too.

LoneWolf,

Congradulations on signing up for a course and introducing a newbie to the fold. All training is good. How much does the course cost and how many days does it last? Is there a separate course for revolvers and semi-auto pistols?

Thanks Adam.
the class cost is $175.00, which includes all the books and forms. We will be in class from 9am to 5 pm on the Saturday, and then 8am to noon on Sunday. Another of my employees took this class a year ago with his father and was very impressed with it. The instructor he had was a former SWAT from LA. My understanding is they are more into the actual handling / shooting / defending aspects. I know other classes usually shoot 50 rounds, this class is 200 rounds minimum.
In the class my employee took last year, they even concentrated on night firing.
There isn't a distinction between revolver / semi from waht I understand , in their class scheduling. They do offer further trainging for anyone wishing to go.
Their web link is:
The Firing Line (http://www.firinglineguns.com) for anyone interested in Michigan. Not a plug, and I won't give it my recomendation till after I've been through the class. I think I'll get a well rounded idea of the class from both my point of view as well as the "newby's" ;)
