Gun Control, 1 man-1village

A couple years ago, I read where during WWII, when U.S. troops liberated a village in Holland, one of the troops learned that a lone Nazi partrooper was blown off course and landed in the village square, he layed there for awhile , then got up, drew his pistol, and captured the entire village, when asked why the villagers didn't fight back or shoot him, and old man said they were not allowed to own or possess any firearms, so one soldier capture a whole village in Holland. Lets not let that happen to the U.S. or Canada !

Hopefully with the new Conservative gov't up here the gun control will take a step backwards in the enxt few months.

Unfortunately most hunters and shooters on both sides of the border still are not involed and don't even belong to one of the organizations that are fighting for firearms owners. We need to get the people that sit around with their thumbs up their butts, letting everyone else do it for them, to join. Just their dues would give the organizations the financial backing they need.

Imagine if everyone with guns in the US belonged to the NRA and every firearm owner in Canada belonged to the NFA or CSSA. That would be some serious clout!!!!

as another WW2 vingette in the same theme, but the other side of the coin... declassified documents from the defeated Japanese government revealed that one of the main reasons that invasion was not touted for Australia, the Pacific U.S. or even of Hawaii in the wake of the attack on Pearl Harbour was the well-known local traditions of owning and using firearms. The Tojo Military machine was extremely leary of taking on an enemy territory "where every bush, rock-pile and ditch could conceal a rifle barrel in the hands of a trained shot". They were way too used to invading and devastating nations full of unarmed citizens...
