It's been awful quiet in here, for the past year...

Where'd everyone go?

As for me, I've been taking care of the wife, after major back surgery last March. Since then, just trying to keep my head above water...

Last deer season was my second best. 5 deer total... :D

Good to see you are still around. I hope the wife is on the heal. Back problems are no fun.

I am still fighting with the Drs. Still can't find one that can tell me what is causing my problems. All they want to do is perscribe drugs. The last drug runs $1000 a month.

I finally shot a buck last fall. first one I have seen in 4 years. The Michigan deer herd has been shot off so bad you are lucky to see any deer at all anymore.

Chairman,

It is indeed good to see you back. I hope everything resolves itself favorably.

Now, do you think Muledeer is trying to get his post count up, or what?

Sorry to hear about the herd conditions, multibeard...

Missouri has been very liberal with doe tags, for the past couple of years, and I'm definitely seeing the results. We usually see deer on my property, year round, but not in the past 12 months. We're lucky to see a deer, period...

Hey, Fabs!

It's been a L-O-N-G year ~ that's for sure.

The wife's doing just fine, mainly because of the quality of home-care I gave... :D

As for me ~ I'm a train-wreck. I had to give up caffeine last year, so my gitty-up don't wanna go much anymore.

Then I went and quit smoking, 2 1/2 months ago. Oh My....

I can't wait to see the difference it makes in my hunting, though.

AND ~ the main reason no one has seen me for quite awhile...our phone lines are possessed. I guess that's the problem, 'cause we've breen having problems with static on the lines, for over 9 months. Sprint can't seem to figure it out, so we were stuck with sub-standard (antique) phone service. Dropped calls, data errors ~ so much, I actually thought of just giving up the Intenet

Well ~ about a month ago, I heard an advertisement for satellite Internet access that just became available in our area (Wild Blue), so I checked it out. It's not like most satellite services, where you still need a phone line to upload ~ this was the real-deal. In other words ~ both upload & download are thru the satellite dish. I signed up, pronto!

And here I am...

You'll be better off without the smoking and the caffeine. I never smoked and I rarely, if ever, drink, and when I do drink, it is never more than 2 in a single night. Now, the caffeine is a completely different story. Right now, I have a huge, and I mean huge, cup of coffee in front of me, but I guess that is what happens when I work until 4:00 in the morning and then get back up at 9:00 in the morning and start working right away.

As far as deer are concerned, the DNR here in Maryland has been working pretty hard to thin them out in parks, but that is about all they can do without the help of the private land owners allowing hunters on their land.

I still manage to get my share of deer though.

As far as internet connections and phone lines are concerned, I had my nightmare a little over a year ago with Verizon. I went from using DSL to dialup because they kept stringing me along for over a month. I lost my business e-mail address out of the blue one day because they decided they couldn't give me DSL access. I switched to Comcast Cable Internet service and Vonage VOIP telephone service, and Verizon keeps sending me mail asking me to come back. I pay a little more for cable and a lot less for telephone service, so I am happy with what I have because it has been rather reliable and I like the Vonage telephone reports because they let me know exactly how much time I spend speaking to each client.
