Got my Gold Label last October and took maybe three shots with it some pheasants. Went trap shooting last Wednesday and put a box of shells through it. Shot a 19 (not great, but okay for me). The gun shouldered nicely and felt good. It drew a lot of attention - apparently not a lot of GL's around these parts and one with a pistol grip even more scarce. I'm really looking forward to next pheasant season.

The Gold Label is the Ruger side by side, if I'm not mistaken. My dad wants a side by side, why I don't know, but I have been debating between getting him the Ruger Gold Label and the Beretta. Of course, the Beretta is more expensive, and probably the one he wants, but I don't think he will shoot it much after the first couple of times since he has been shooting an o/u for almost his entire life.
Let me know what you think about the Gold Label after you shoot a couple dozen boxes of shells through it.

Fabsroman, will do. Have family coming up this way over Memorial Day and expect to do some shooting then. Will give you a further update. The only drawback, is that GLs are hard to find; at least I think they still are.
