I found my first Geocache today. There are a couple of volacanic craters just outside of town and I figured it would be a good way to take my Jeep out for a little trail ride to see how it handled. It was a tough find but well worth it. If you haven't tried Geocacheing it's tons of fun. I got out for some alone time and a little much-needed exercise. All you need is a GPS and some patience.

You picked a challenge for your first one. That's cool. I haven't been out for awhile, yard projects and other distractions. My first was actually in another state. A lot of our local ones are puzzles which my daughter really enjoys. The first coordinates are usually just the start of the hunt. We go by Colosearchers for the geo site
, need to go out more.

Yeah, it was a little tough. I knew it had to be hidden in some rocks but that crater is a collapsed volcanic lake so there's nothing but rocks all over the place. I wandered around for about a half hour until I noticed some rocks that looked like they were deliberately placed. I didn't have anything thing to leave so I didn't take anything out, just signed the log. There are a few up by the reservior I might go look for next weekend. I may even let the wife and kids come along:D

I enjoy getting out and doing it as a family outing.. in this case the finance and the dogs.

I think we are at around 25 finds right now.

Even when we go on a trip of sorts we will try and find a couple along the way. Brings us places we would not think of going to.
