Ok so at our sportsmens club with the lakes etc and campers around, what is the best way to keep the geese out of our yards and everywhere else?... we do get them thinned out during the goose season but now for example after all the young were hatched, they are everywhere....and also the signs of where they been....so what is the secret to keeping them out of a yard?....a dog to chase them isn't the answer...they just tease the dogs and get them to swim way out....anything you can sprinkle on the grass they eat ?...what a mess they have made...I don't want to hang bags or anything like that around to spook them either..????????????

Sounds like a good bow with a steady aim is what you need:D
Seriously though I am not real sure what you can do, maybe contact a professional landscaper or some golf courses in your area to see if they have any sugestions.

The dogs will work with a remote control boat to chase them in the water. Takes lots of time to pi$$ them off enough to leave the area.

Loud fireworks with report the can be fired at them like bottlerockets only with a real bang your local fireworks store will have them on sale after the 4 of july.

I have seen them caught in net traps and relocated also.

Maybe sprinkle lime on the grass?.....Has to be something they dislike to eat..Can't shoot them now..and a long time to goose season...

If you lived in Maryland, you would be able to mow them down come August 1 with 15 per day and no plug in the gun. That is how Maryland is going to try to reduce its population by 2/3's. Good Luck to us. I have seen so many of the little ones over the last month that it is insane. Went riding along the C&O canal and there were plenty with 2 and 3 babies, and I even saw one with 4. They are so plentiful around here that they have begun nesting on the side of the highway and in downtown Bethesda which borders with Washington, DC.

fabs, do me a favor and don't let any of them get away....last season they took a total of 35 on opening day alone here...at the close, we only seen 6 hanging around.....now are at least 60 resident ones...happy hunting
