We're all here because we like to shoot... So, here is the question, don't make it too complicated!!!! You have a Saturday afternoon all to yorself you can take ONE gun to the range or out in the brush, which handgun do you take....In other words, what is your favorite handgun to shoot and why???
I own a Ruger MKII 22/45 auto
Ruger single six 22/22 Mag
S&W Mod 28 357 Mag
Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag
My favorite is the Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag! I like the challenge of shooting it accurately with full loads and I love what it does to a water jug out to say... 100 yards.
Now it's your turn, whats your favorite and why???

Big joe,
Excellent question because it requires reflective thinking. Here on the farm in very rural PA, I most often carry a M1911 .45 Colt or a S&W 4-inch .357 M686. I have many other handguns, but these are my working guns that let me drive a tractor, trim brush or fix fence and take any shots that need taking.

I own a
Ruger GP100 .357
Ruger SBH .44mag
Ruger P90 .45 ACP
and a Browning Buckmark .22
My favorite to shoot is the .357 but I need the practice with the .44 (I have a tendancy to flinch) so it would be a toss-up between those two.

My favorite one to shoot right now is my Para Ordinance Tac 4 Hi-Cap DAO 45auto. I have shot this pistol more times than I can remember and it is as much fun every time as it was the first time. Thousand + round later and still havin fun. Just added a Para Ordinance LTC Steel 1911 to the family and looking forward to shooting it .

So how many shots does it take to trim the brush?
You know Im only ribbin ya man;) :D .

As a dealer, I have access to just about anything I want to shoot.
But, the ones I shoot the most must be the answer to the question.... so its my Ruger Bisley 357 7 1/2" revolvers used for Cowboy Action Shooting. I practice, practice and practice with these guns and enjoy every round.
My wimpy handload is 125 gr LTC over 4.0 gr. of WW-452-AA in 357 brass. Very easy on the hands and super accurate in the above revolvers and my Winchester Legacy rifle.

Let see, Having a jillion handguns, most of which get neglected,
it's tossup with my 357 that always goes to the hills with me or my 1911a1 that goes every where else with me!

I enjoy my Kimber 1911 45 ACP and I usually take my 22 conversion to extend the shooting fun especially if I'm out for bunnies.:D

Lets See my favorite handgun for plinking is my Ruger semi auto 22 rimfire with the slab side bull barrel. I have a millet red dot sight on it and it is amazingly accurate . Really fun to use on the steel silhouete range with Velocitors:D

I would have to say my 6 inch barrel, custom S&W 25-5 is my favorite. It is by far my most accurate, it fits me perfectly, and I can use either .45 Colt or change the cylinder and use .45 ACP. I don't hunt with it any more, but it has taken hogs, one deer, and a number of varmints.

Smith&Wesson Model 57 in .41 Mag, 6 inch barrel adjustable sites and a set of Pachmyer's. Killed everything from grouse upto moose with it.(Okay the moose was allready hit with the 300 but it was still standing before I put the final shot into it, mental note bring more ammo for the rifle next time)
Not many people shoot this caliber anymore.

Centerfire: I guess it has to be my Merrill or XL, if you wish. I pick up the leather bag and off I go to the the field with a 22, 30 Merrill, 30-30, 32-20 and 357. The 22 and 32-20 are scoped. It is the very best hunting handgun I have ever owned and may well be the best hunting handgun ever made.
Rimfire: The Browning Buckmark 5 inch gun, is just a fun gun to shoot, especially with a dot sight.

Mostly my Model 18-3 S&W. Its "only" a 22 but a hoot to shoot. Owned it about 35 years and its still going.
Being a rifle nut I mostly shoot a Rem 700 in 280. Just a accurate rifle that usually will hit what its aiming at. I stress the aiming at part. Its shoots about 150% better that I do.

That's a hard question because it sort of implies enjoyment. I guess of them all it would be a 1911 but I sure enjoy a lot of others as well. A pre-war 4" Woodsman is close.

my glock 36 in 45. If you learn to handle a large caliber handgun in a small package everything else gets a little easier to shoot.

three things:
1. that ruger gp100 seems to be a popular wheel gun,
and i'm thinking of getting one. does it handle like its' big brother the ruger super redhawk?
2. i've always liked the ruger super blackhawk 44mag, 7 1/2" BARREL,HOWEVER I GOT A SUPER REDHAWK LAST FALL
AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN HANDLING. THAT GUN THE MINUTE I PUT IN MY HAND I SAID THIS ONE IS IT.
IN FACT I HUNTED WITH IT LAST FALL,HOWEVER NO SHOTS FIRED
BUT I WAS CONFIDENT FROM 70 YDS IN.
3 I REALLY ENJOY SHOOTING MY GROUP OF WHEELGUNS.

1. Ruger 9mm
2. Taurus .357
I like the wheel guns also but the Ruger is smooth and accurate, never had a missfire and cleans up nicely.
