My new NEF Sportster .17HMR. Topped it off with a Bushnell Trophy 3-9X40 Mildot with Weaver rings. The scope actually has a pretty decent glass on it considering I paid less than $100 for it. Might put a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10X on it someday when I have a few extra bucks. All said and done I walked out for well under $300. Its gunna be a heck of a squirrel and bunny gun. Can't wait!

Here is a 7 shot group at 100 yards. I'm satisfied. :D

Lookin' pretty sharp there Wahnie !!

BTW, not a bad group at all for freehand, you should be able to tighten it right up from the Bench :D

Are those Nikes? j/k

Congrats on your new toy! and good shooting too. NEF Sportsters are nice guns. I'm sure it will serve you well.

I need one too.

That rifle has a better recoil pad than my .300 Mag.

You'll enjoy that rifle a lot, good shooting to you.

I love mine... was out last saturday and made a 230yrd kill on one of our gophers. Oh and the kill was confirmed by laser after the shot, when I walked over to the hole.

Mine will usually ground under 1.5" at 100yrds.

Wind drift is not as bad as you would think.

When you get a chance you will want to upgrade the glass to a higher power... at over 100yrds those ground squirrels look pretty small. Even with mine at 24X at 200yrds, they are small in the scope!

I knew someone was gunna notice my Nikes. Never fails.

Dom, I couldn't have shot that group offhand at 100 yards if my life depended on it! :D

MT, I have no idea why it has a recoil pad. Its not exactly a bear to shoot.

Toxic, I wish there were more places here to shoot that far. I was hard pressed to find a spot open enough for my 100 yard targets. Farthest I've been able to shoot it was right at about 150. At that range it wouldn't break golfball sized rocks, but it made a mess out of pop bottles filled with water.

I eventually want to upgrade the scope to a Bushnell Elite 4200, but I doubt I'll go higher than a 4-16X. I really just don't need that much scope, especially for around here. I'm bias anyways because I prefer lower powered scopes and rarely use over 6-7X. It is nice to count the whiskers on a prairie dog from time to time, though.

I chose this rifle because it fit me better than the Savage and Marlin bolt actions, which felt like toys because of how short and narrow thier stocks are. This feels like a real rifle.

Me shooting small rocks at 150 yards. Sorry about the poor quality and the camera jumping.
