Why is it such a big deal that Pres. Bush said "sh*t" at some press conference?

I don't understand it either- I guess he is held to a higher standard because he's the President. Sometimes- ok, most of the time- I don't understand the liberals and the news media.

this is a clear case where the old saying "familiarity breeds contempt" comes into play. the pres. and blair were talking privately, almost. the pres. forgot the mikes were hot.

one of the little faux pas we all commit occasionally. who cares. and who gives a rats rump anyway. i liked the way blair alertly turned the mikes off and went back into the bs session and never missed a beat.

and the pres. looked unruffled.

I too have no idea why it is such a big deal, unless they are just trying to make a point that the President must be pretty pissed off at the Arabs since he is using profanity. The more I read, the more I am getting pissed off at the arabs too. The UN should take over the entire Middle East and then sell oil to all nations in the UN at a set price and a little higher price to the rest of the world if they need it. The UN would need to recoup its costs for the war. Now that I have thrown out that stupid idea, let me ask who exactly is in the UN. My wife is calling for dinner, so I can't do the research right now.

As long as he used it in the right context, I have no problem whatsoever with him or anyone else using it. There's a time & place for it and this appears to me to be just fine.

I don't like hearing profanity when a bunch of teenagers are hanging around in a public place like a restaurant, or movie theater, etc....

I grew up raising cattle, I didn't know how to say "manure" til I was 21.
