Hi Troops,
Sometime ago someone posted info on how to tell a long action from a short action by measuring the distance between the front floorplate bolt to the one just behind the trigger guard, center to center (?).
The reason I'm asking is the fact that I have a Ruger 77 MKII in 257 Roberts. The Roberts is "classed" as a "Short" action round.
My action will hold 5, 30-06 rounds like it was made for them. (Nope I know they won't chamber ;>)HA!
Anyway, near as I can find out my rifle was made in 1997 and shoots tighter than I can hold it. I was just going for a custom stock and need to know what to tell Boyd's or ?? what action to make it for.
Sorry this is so windy and thanks for your help.
FWIW, this is the 1st site I go to in the morn and more often than not, the last at night. Good stuff, GOOD people!!!
Thanks again!:D
