I use 2 both, made by carrol Black.Fatal attraction and fur king.
I like to give them a choice--sweet or not.
Fatal really shines once temps drops.

I'm sure I don't catch the numbers of critters some of these fellas do but back in my younger days when walking a few miles wasn't painful I had pretty good luck with just plain old smelt as coon bait. Bought at the grocery store in the frozen food section they are 4 or 5 inches long with their heads cut off and gutted.A package of 20 or 30 or so would cost a couple of bucks.
I trapped creeks and ponds here in SE Iowa.
Good Luck

A cob of corn, and maple syrup, does not put out a lot of odor.Especially in areas of colder temps. If you want to increase your coon catch, get some good coon lure and bait that puts out some fragrance.

I wouldnt call it the best coon bait I have used but far as catching coons in the cuff type traps some mini marshmellows scattered around the set and then inside the trap work mighty good.

best two I have used was aluminum foil on a water set, and a small brim perch on a dryland set.

I bought a rummage sale blender years ago when I trapped a lot, and the best bait was old eggs, say 6 of them, not rotten, just past date for use, and one frozen beaver castor, all whipped into a froth, put into a fruit jar, great poured into a dirt hole set. This past winter I caught a dozen in two killer trap boxes on my land, used perch after filleting off the meat, fish are not so good in warmer weather, salted fish in early fall does not rot as quick. Call lure was almost always rotted down carp for fish oil.
